Recently, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the federal government has decided to install solar modules on all government buildings in the country, thus harnessing green energy and reducing dependence on imported fossil fuel power.
First, Pakistan's federal government buildings will use solar energy, and by April 2023, they will run entirely on solar power.
Speaking at a solar energy conference in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, Shehbaz Sharif noted that the government buildings solar project could save 300-500 MW of electricity per month, reducing the cost of imports. Currently, this cost is about $27 billion per year.
The Islamic State chief executive believes that all federal ministries, departments, authorities and affiliated offices will be required to install solar energy in the next four months. He said this would incentivize the provinces to adopt solar energy. He urged provincial governors to follow the federal plan and introduce solar power systems in their respective provinces.
